RACING INFORMATION @ KRANJ ~ 23/08/15~SUNDAY ( 10 RACES )
On recent form, Tim (3), Zac Gallant (9) and Dr Octopus (1) probably boast the best form in this opening event. Tim is backing up after he came up short against Dragon Walk last Sunday. Watch for tote confidence. Zac Gallant is still in good shape. Scored over similar trip two runs back. Can include in exotics though his horror gate makes things complicated. Dr Octopus would probably have preferred slightly longer, but he can still be right in the mix for this. Pacifiers on. Dragon Ruby (4) has gate speed but seems to run better when ridden more quiet. Not without some place claims.
Nothing went right for odds-on favourite Special ID (1) at his last run. Checked several times and overraced, but he still did well to finish fourth. Has drawn marble one. Blinker-pacifiers dropped and new jockey booked. Ready to atone. After a sound debut third, Jelly Bean (10) is expected to come right into the calculations here. Blinkers on. She has not drawn so well this time, but still merits serious consideration. Red Kids (9) is back after a freshen-up since his debut in June when he ran fifth to So The Thing. Seems to have improved a few lengths since. Keep in mind. Steed Expedite (3) has shown glimpses of ability before, but remains fairly inconsistent. Place claims on best form. Has drawn a good barrier in No 3.
US-bred three-year-old Speedy Dragon (4) proved his second-up all-the-way win was no fluke with a closing second to Great Sun three weeks ago. Good gate. Commands plenty of respect in this moderate race. Galloper Bellus Wonder (2) will appreciate the drop back to 1000m. Knocked up after leading at his last start. Brad Parnham to ride. Stick with him. Demon King (1) is back from a six-month spell. Returned lame after his last run which was his only start for trainer Brian Dean. Has moved yard. This is too sharp but with some luck he may still run a place. Mr Patron (6) goes better over Polytrack. Nicely drawn. Not without claims in this.
Hard to make a case for most of those. Double Jeopardy (7) is looking for more ground. If pace is on, he will be charging home late.Above The Skyline (3) did not fire a shot at his last start. Previous run saw him plug on for second and it was on Polytrack which he runs over this time around. Should be thereabouts. Euro Heights (1) led at her second start only to weaken inside last 400m. Would have benefitted from those two runs and is worth following from now on. Bernardís Fighter (10) is not a genuine sort. Still chasing first win after 23 runs. But he did close in late at his last couple of runs. Can fill the minors at best.
Wide open race. Limís Battle (6) franked his form with a maiden win over the mile three weeks ago. Has trained on and there is no reason why he canít repeat the feat. Picking Military Alliance (5) for a place despite his chequered form. Can put it all together one day and drop it all off the next. But his last two runs over a trip have been commendable. Take on trust. Muscle Beach (1) runs better when handy or at least among the first half. Not without a kick. Place claims. Prince Mag (2) is on the quick back-up. Stayed one-paced at his last run on Sunday. Worth better than that. Can redeem himself.
A set of blinkers seems to have unlocked Gold Crownís (4) potential. Will relish extra 200m. Has made plenty of headway and may well open his account here. French Vintage (5) was a shade disappointing at his last run. Previous run was a lot more encouraging. Can run a place on best form. Shabbat (8) suddenly hit form with a surprising second to Limís Battle last time out. On that run, he has to be given some consideration in this race. Mr Clooney (2) has not shown much in three runs. Seems to be a one-pacer. Looks in slightly better shape on the training tracks. Just a roughie.
English-bred Royal Fortune (6) came from the clouds to just nick the race on debut. Low draw. Freshened up and should figure among the leading hopes. Star General (2) returned lame after his last run when he still busted his guts to run a close second to Clip The Ticket. Trialled very well on August 4. Has drawn an alley. Wonít surprise if he goes well fresh. Rikioh (3) nearly sprang an upset first-up from a break last time out. If he reproduces that form, he should get right in the mix in this. Dragon King (5) is an in-and-out sort who pops up every now and then. Did not finish far behind the placegetters at his last outing. Trip suits. Can pinch a place if in the mood.
Bilbo Baggins (1) looked all poised to pick up his maiden win when Real Hero flew in late. Inching close to a win and this could be the moment. Argentinian galloper Good Loouken (2) ran a brave third last time out despite being caught wide for most of the way. Has again drawn off the track but can still be considered if he can secure some cover. Peregrine Falcon (8) fought hard to stick his head in front at his last start. Will enjoy a cosier run from barrier No 1 this time. Can be followed again. Fast Jet (5) is improving with every run. Drops back to 1100m when a slightly longer trip would have suited him better. Can still finish over the top of them.
A wide array of chances line up here. Blossoms Sequel (3) blew away his rivals at his last start. Was given a soft run in a barrier trial on Tuesday when hard held all the way by race-rider Manoel Nunes. Looks to have maintained his condition. Drawn wide which is okay as he gets back. Warrants plenty of thought in this. Mighty Man (4) has proven his liking for Polytrack with two wins from as many starts on the alternative surface. Comes into this race with a leading hope to double the dose. Big danger. Any Rumour (2) steamed home late for second at his last outing. Switches back to Polytrack which he has not quite handled too well in two runs. Wide gate. Exercise caution. Mr Connery (6) made ground on Blossoms Sequel in a race earlier in the year. Blossoms Sequel has obviously improved a couple of lengths since, but the 3.5 kilo turnaround may help bridge the gap. Nice barrier will also help his cause.
Hard to get past Chopinís Nocturne (3) on his last-start devastating run even if he goes up in grade and will jump from the outermost alley. First time over Polytrack but he seems to work well on it. Double on the cards. Fortune Winner (1) was too far back and was buffeted when attempting to weave his way through a wall of horses at her last run. New rider takes over. Drops back in distance but she can bounce back if they go mad in front. This will be harder for last-start winner Tenma (7) but the Irish-bred can hold his own nonetheless. Still young and has plenty of scope for improvement. Solid place claims. Run Cheetah Run (9) ran an eye-catching third to Lika Tiger at his last outing. This is not any easier but he can again be included in your calculations.
